I think this one's a great topic.

I'd highly recommend seeing the movie PERUME (2006). It's brilliant.

I would also recommend looking at the novel the movie "Perfume"is based on by Patrick Suskind.

Also, I have seen articles in the New York Times and elsewhere about perfumes being used by stores, hotels, and other corporations to create a certain atmosphere and mindset for their clients. This might be interesting to look in to.
